Hope everyone had a wonderful Independence Day weekend! Me and my family shared sparklers and watched the fireworks. It was therapeutic in a loud, obnoxious sort of way. I found some cool stuff at Gamestop over the weekend. They were having a buy tow, get one free sale, so I found some sweet deals. My pickups were:- Konami Krazy Racers (GBA)
- Garfield Kart: Furious Racing (Switch)
- Horizon Chase Turbo (Switch)
- The Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors
- Severed Steel (PS4)
- Terminator: Resistance Enhanced (PS5)
Most of these games were ones I've been searching for years for. All except for Severed Steel, which is one I decided to give a shot. Not sure how much I like it yet. It looks cool with a bright neon art style, but the mechanics are difficult to get down, mainly the controls. It wants you to slide and dive past enemies, but I keep getting shot and dying. Probably doing something wrong on my end.The past week, I've been working like a dog on new videos in response to the whole Sony Playstation debacle regarding their announcement discontinuing physical discs for their games. This change doesn't go into effect until January 2028, which seems to be when people assume the PS6 will launch. There are two brand new shorts and three new videos, including my review of Crackdown 3 for Xbox One. If you feel so inclined to give them a view and drop a comment to help the algorithm out, I'd appreciated it greatly. This Thursday, me and Miles plan to do a part three to our Minecraft livestream as we search for a shipwreck with lost treasure and the ability to infinitely breathe underwater. Will we accomplish our mission? Probably not, but it'll be fun to watch us react to creepers sneaking up behind us. You don't want to miss it! Then next week, we are thinking about playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Miles has never played it before, so his reaction will be the livestream. I'll be taking questions and helping him navigate where he needs to go.Well, back to another week of game reviews. I apologize for not updating the website like I do every Friday. I was off work Friday and Family was heavy on my mind, so that's where my attention was.Have a great week!

Sony Hasn't Been Telling the Truth About Playstation

Eros by DeftonesA couple weeks ago, for only a few hours, Deftones' unreleased 2008 album, Eros, was leaked online with some outtakes from one of their other albums. After listening to the Eros, I have some thoughts.Besides the hurt and pain that came from the death of former bass player, Chi Cheng, why couldn't they finish the album? In precious interviews, lead singer, Chino Moreno, said the songs were little more than glorified demos that would likely "never see the light of day". The album as a whole is somewhere between 80% to 90% done. With minor details that could be added, possible lyrical changes, and a tad vocal polish. Other than that, the album is nearly complete. The second thing I though as I listened to the album is just how perfect it fits into the evolution of their sound. Eros sounds like a mix of Saturday Night Wrist and Diamond Eyes. As a whole I really like this album a lot. Some of their absolute heaviest songs are on this album. Songs like 'Electra' and 'Trempest' go really hard. My favorite so far is 'Sable'.If you can find it online, it's a must-listen for any Deftones fan; one I cannot believe I'm in possession of.

Masters of the Universe (2026)Saw this in theaters a couple weeks ago expecting to think it was just alright since the He-Man property was always one I knew about but didn't grow up with or latch to. After seeing they had a new actor in the central role and thinking the rest of the surrounding cast was perfect, I decided there was enough originality in this one to justify purchasing a ticket. I was correct. Masters of the Universe is a not only action packed with some of the coolest fight scenes I think I've ever seen in a movie, but the story has emotional depth and has nice pacing. The movie acts quick when it needs to and slows down at moments when emotions are high and the story needs to breathe a little. The two main characters Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) and Teela (Camila Mendes) get lost in their roles; immersed in their backstories to such an extent that they felt these characters were themselves. Skeletor was very fun and menacing at times, though he was played by Jared Leto. I straight up believe Leto is a self-absorbed person, and an insufferable person on a personal level. I can't even watch most of his post-2000's films where he starts playing characters that fit his personality. Here, his face is covered by a CGI skull and his voice is deeply lowered to the point you could tell me Skeletor was played by Julie Andrews and I MIGHT believe you. The rest of the cast is splendid, with such names as Idris Elba, Community-alum Allison Brie, and Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress, just to name a few.If there is one gripe I have with the movie, it's they make Adam and Duncan such baffoons who stumble around, sometimes literally. More importantly, how they portray war fatigue and grief as a soldier is a questionable if you ask me. Duncan, played by Idris Elba, is the father to Teela. He was once the highest ranking general to the king until Skeletor and his goons invaded Eternia, nearly losing his life in the process. Fifteen years pass before Adam returns from Earth and we find Duncan is a miserable alcoholic. He is clearly depressed, has survivor's guilt, and PTSD. He was a prior war hero and a highly decorated general, but all his daughter can do is make jokes at his expense and talk down to him as if he wasn't a loving father, which they show he was at the beginning of the film. Jokes are made at his expense for reasons unknown. Making him the comedic relief was a strange choice. Then you have Adam, the son of the king who was hurried through a portal to a safer location: Earth. He grows up without knowing the fate of his parents and never fully grasps Earth's culture and logic, getting him into strange situations where his memories from Eternia make him a freak to Earth and Eternian people. He also struggles with self-confidence, which is another running gag throughout the film. Sometimes the differences in culture between two different worlds is funny, but there are other times where he seems weak despite being a beefcake before getting the powers of He-Man.All in all, I really enjoyed the movie much more than I expected. My biggest hope is for Adam and the gang to be ripping a roaring without missing a beat. If there has to be comic relief, I hope it's not a character dealing with loss.
