Me and my good friend Miles have completed work on a music project we've been working on. It's Rock EP with five tracks. We don't have a name for the band yet. Discussions are still ongoing as to what we should call our band. I'll attach links to our album when uploaded to Spotify and other streaming platforms. At least it's Friday and the new review of The Castlevania Adventures is up on YouTube. Go check it out and come back for some more website-exclusive reviews, like I do every week.

X-Ray Visions by ClutchThe year is 2015 and Mastodon is on tour with one of their favorite bands, Clutch. A friend of mine's favorite band is Mastodon and wanted to go. He's seen them countless times and met the band. I agreed to go because I'm a fan of both bands, but I liked Clutch much more at the time. We went to a show at some small-town venue in what looked like a converted warehouse. We got to the venue hours beforehand and sat outside before anyone else just in case we bumped into any of our heroes. We could hear Mastodon inside practicing and doing soundcheck. As we were looking around the venue, low and behold Clutch's lead singer Neil Fallon was sitting down on a parking block on the phone with who I assume to be his wife with an annoyed and slightly frustrated look on his face.Seeing him, we awkwardly turn to each other and debate bothering him. By this point, he's looking directly at us while he's still on the phone. We turn around and lock eyes. All I could do was give a big goofy smile and put my hand up to say "what's up". He smiles back and gets back to his phone call, appreciative we didn't pester him.By the time the show starts, me and my buddy Ben were standing in he front row, Clutch opened the show. One of the first songs they played, while Neil stood on stage singing like he was a Shakespearian actor, he noticed me. He looked directly at me with excitement, waved at me in the same awkward hand motion before pointing at me with the biggest smile. That was a moment when I truly felt seen. Clutch was playing a not yet released song from their album Psychic Warfare titled 'X-Ray Visions'.The song is pure rock fury. Talking about opening your eyes to possibly conspiracies or superstitions around us. There's a feeling of loneliness, isolation, but elation when they find out a conspiracy is true, almost like he witnessed it firsthand. With the intrigue of a spy movie set to an all rock soundtrack, 'X-Ray Visions' is yet another great Clutch anthem in an almost endless catalog of bonafide classics.

Conan: Tides of the Tyrant (2026 FCBD Special)Free Comic Book Day was a couple weeks back. Although I was a tab disappointed with the more paltry selection of comics, there was one I was really excited about. Conan: Tides of the Tyrant is right up my alley. I like seeing strong dudes going out in the heat of battle and tearing apart their enemies. War is hell, but it makes for a great graphic novel. The first page compared war in differing eras, stating war is hell, no matter the era. Flip the page, and you have Conan shouting "The time has come to greet your brothers in Hell". Damn, that's cold. The kind of speech we've come to expect from Conan. The comparisons of war throughout the years continues with muskets driven through an American soldier to Conan getting speared by an enemy. The effects of war are always seen and felt. The story takes a turn when an evil force, seeming to defy time, shows up in a few different periods with an evil magic and a strange green glare emanating from his eyes. Whoever this dark figure is, it's assumed they will be the main adversary to Conan. How they incorporate this time jumping remains to be seen, leading into the first issue of the new Conan series.I enjoy the artwork done by Howling Jesus Merino. His drawing looks like he could have drawn ancient maps from hundreds of years ago. his use of shadow in everyday objects like chucks of rock when someone is slammed through a wall is pretty cool. It remains to be seen if the series will live up to the Conan the Barbarian legacy, but one thing is for certain, the future looks bright...with green glaring eyes.
